Grass Fed and Finished Hanger steak is prized for its flavour. Sometimes referred to as the “Butcher’s Steak”, as butchers would often keep it for themselves, simply marinade and cook fast on a hot grill.

A great recipe to follow is Momofuku’s, which simply uses a marinade consisting of apple juice, soy, onion, garlic, sesame oil and pepper for up to 24 hours, followed by grilling.

Our 100% grass fed and finished beef is regeneratively farmed.

stake
Chill steak to room temperature 15 minutes prior to cooking. Season steak and sear it on one side for 2-3 minutes on each side. Cover loosely with foil for 10 minutes and serve.

So tasty

An absolutely delicious cut of beef. I marinated it for a couple of hours in olive oil, then made up a bush spice mix to coat it in. Hot grill pan for a few minutes each side until medium rare. Goes great with horseradish creme fraiche on top.

Beef Hanger Steak

Very tasty and extremely tender. I made this into Mongolian beef. Any fascia on the muscle was cut out the beef was cut across the grain and was velveted for an hour in a little bicarb, corn flour and Shaoxsing Wine (xangjiu wine) it probably didn’t need it. It was very tender and tasted great. A nice rich deep flavoured beef that stood up to the rich flavours of the Mongolian sauce.
