About the role
We are looking for a kind and enthusiastic person to work as a Butcher in our fast-paced meat processing environment, based in Kewdale. Bring your knowledge and high-quality cutting and boning skills with a fast-growing business.
We are open to full time or part time, and possibly casual. Immediate start available.
Job responsibilities
- Breaking down carcasses into primary and secondary cuts
- Processing meat using knives, cleavers, saws and other equipment
- Preparing cuts for weighing, packing and sale or further processing
- Preparing meat-based products and meat derivatives
- Ensuring work areas are clean and compliant with all food safety and hygiene standards
To be successful in this role, you will enjoy working as part of a team, are open to taking direction and working independently, and be physically fit. You will have excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of meat quality, cuts, and preparation.
Selection criteria
- Qualified butcher and / or extensive butchery experience
- May suit Chef looking for change in direction and daytime hours
- Enthusiastic and positive energy, and enjoy working as part of a team
- A willingness to learn and share skills
- Able to take direction and meet specified requirements
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be physically fit
