Rickles Pickles


Ricky spent the last decade working in kitchens.

Over the years, he developed his skills as head chef, and was inspired by growers and producers he met who were passionate about good food. All of his down time was invested in pickles - taste testing, perfecting his brine, trialing different cucumbers and tweaking recipes. Ricky noticed many of the supermarket shelves were stocked with imported pickles and made it his mission to try them all. There was a gap that needed to be filled, a perfect jar of crunchy, well balanced, Australian-made pickles that did not have any additives or firming agents, and decided that the best thing to do was to make it themselves. 

Ricky experimented with a range of various vinegars and acidity percentages and then decided on apple cider vinegar due to its health benefits, flavours and tartness from the apples. He also then perfected the brine that balanced acidity, sweetness, and saltiness. Being able to work with growers directly, they are able to expand their range to include hot sauces and other pickled goods.
