About the role

We are looking for a kind individual and great communicator who is also fit and reliable to join us as our Delivery Driver and Sales Assistant in South West WA. Working closely with WOA’s South West sales representative, you will enjoy providing excellent customer service and building strong and positive relationships in the local community. You’ll thrive on the variety of delivering our delicious food products into food service and retail, and to our online customers in the region, and assisting our direct sales to customers through Farmer’s Markets. 

Alongside being a positive advocate for Wide Open Agriculture and our innovative Dirty Clean Food brand, this role requires unloading cold storage products, being accurate with deliveries and record keeping, and cash handling. You will need your own transport to and from our small distribution hub in Jindong (approx. 20 mins south west of Busselton) to pick up the delivery vehicle and goods. The Farmer’s Market is located in Margaret River.

To be successful in this role, you’re a keen team-player who likes to communicate openly and build strong relationships, careful and considerate on the road, and has capacity to work unsupervised and demonstrates strong initiative and problem-solving skills. This role is 4-days per week (Wednesday – Saturday) with the possibility of increasing to full time in line with business growth.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Provide a high level of customer service to our customers and enjoy maintaining existing and building new customer relationships
  • Delivering orders (C class required) safely and efficiently
  • Loading and unloading consignments
  • Direct to customer sales at Farmer’s Market, including cash handling and EFTPOS 
  • Receiving consignments and stock-taking, and keeping accurate records of deliveries
  • Keeping vehicle and all work areas clean and tidy
  • Undertaking safe and correct manual handling practices

What we are looking for (Skills/Experience/Qualities):

  • Excellent communication skills and enjoys connecting with people
  • A reliable, dedicated, and professional person who takes pride in what they do
  • Someone who enjoys working as part of a small team 
  • Multi-drop experience highly desirable - with food product delivery an advantage
  • Can safely load/unload consignments from vehicles and safely deliver goods
  • Be able to demonstrate focus and an attention to detail
  • Cash handling and direct to customer sales experience an advantage
  • The ability to work unsupervised and efficiently under specific time frames
  • Good computer literacy
  • A safe worker – good understanding of OH&S requirements/expectations in a delivery environment
  • Have a current full Australian driver's license
  • Be physically fit:  ability to lift up to 20kg and able to load and unload products from delivery vehicles

 COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination

As a Group 1 business, WOA must be COVID-19 mandate compliant. Therefore, you must be able to present your COVID-19 vaccination certificate before beginning in this role. This includes receiving your booster dose when you become eligible.
