Assistant Warehouse Manager

About Us

Wide Open Agriculture is a food and agriculture company building a new food and farming system to supply consumers with regeneratively grown products from our farming partners and suppliers.

We market and distribute food products through our food brand Dirty Clean Food ( that is regeneratively grown and/or sustainably and ethically produced. We distribute these products to restaurants, retail outlets and to homes within the Perth metro region and other areas within WA.


About the role

The position will support and oversee employees to ensure they have clear instructions, receive appropriate support and that all site operational requirements are being met. 

Primary hours of work are Monday to Friday, with assistance required on weekend shifts from time to time as reasonably requested by the Warehouse Manager.


The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Overseeing accurate and timely picking, packing and delivery of customer orders in line with set goals 
  • Provide training and coaching to staff
  • Learn key warehouse roles to be able to relieve other key warehouse staff during leave periods/absences
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports as required by the business
  • Assist in ensuring inventory management processes are adhered to by warehouse team
  • Ensure customer service processes are adhered to
  • Ensure all warehouse site protocols are adhered to
  • Provide first aid (or be willing to undergo training)
  • Order consumables and record usage ensuring minimum stock levels always on hand
  • Regularly check inventory for freshness and quality
  • Accountability for a clean and tidy environment in the warehouse and delivery vehicles
  • Ensuring employees undertake safe work practices and mitigation protocols are put in place and monitored
  • Ensuring paperwork and records are accurate and signed where required
  • Understand and adhere to operational protocols, while having the patience and skills to teach employees to follow them


What we are Looking for (Skills/Experience/Qualities):

  • A team-focused style - able to teach and coach a diverse employee base
  • A reliable and detail-oriented person with an enthusiasm for building a growth food business
  • A can-do, team-focused attitude is essential for success
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) – someone who understands the importance of teamwork and communication to all stakeholders
  • The ability to work unsupervised and efficiently under specific time frames
  • Prior experience with picking/packing in a cold storage food warehouse is experience highly desirable
  • An aptitude for leadership
  • Technology proficiency including basic level Excel and Word skills and an enthusiastic attitude for putting in place digital solutions to improve data capture and efficiency.
  • Have a current full Australian driver's license
  • Must have current forklift ticket (LF) or be willing to undertake training
  • A safe worker – good understanding of OH&S requirements/expectations in a warehouse and delivery environments
  • Ability to work on a roster between 7am and 6pm
  • Be physically fit:  ability to lift up to 20kg and able to load and unload products from delivery vehicles and pallets in the warehouse
