Changes in Retail Processing and Packaging

COVID19 has created challenges for many businesses over the past few years and we haven’t been excluded!

Due to staff shortages, we were recently given notice by our processor DBC in Dardanup and had three weeks to find an alternative butcher to process our meat for retail. With over 2800 retail packs ordering weekly from us, by independent retailers, this was no small task!

We scoured the state in search of someone to help us and were thrilled when Steve from Artisan Butchers in Belmont stepped in (pictured here on the right, with Billie our Livestock Processing Specialist.)

We have also accelerated our plans to bring the butchery in-house to our Kewdale location.  Within the next six months, we will bring consumers closer to our farming partners with a state-of-the-art butchery onsite, taking a layer out of our supply chain and reducing our food miles.  

In the meantime, look out for our change in retail packaging at your favourite independent retailer. We are using minimal packaging and are working hard to ensure all packaging becomes 100% recyclable and meets the highest environmental standards. Our packaging may have changed for the time being, however, our delicious premium beef and lamb hasn’t!
