Burnt Butter Sauce from The Homemade Kitchen

Sometimes the simplest things are the best. Our friends at The Homemade Kitchen love to serve Burnt Butter over just about anything. Add capers, garlic and sage or even hazelnuts and you can turn any meal into a decadent delight.

 

Ingredients

100g The Homemade Kitchen Pure Butter

Method

In a medium saucepan, over a medium heat allow butter to melt completely.

The Butter will start to foam, allow it to continue cooking until it is lightly browned, stirring occasionally.

You may skim the foam, as necessary.

Remove from heat.

Serve over your favourite pasta for extra decadence, toss through some fresh homemade popcorn, or use as a sauce over roast vegetables or grilled meat.

Burnt Butter with Baby Capers

In a medium saucepan, over a medium heat allow 50g butter to brown with110g baby capers. Once the capers have opened, transfer to a heat proof bowl and place aside. Cook the remaining 50g butter in the pan until it is lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Hazelnut Burnt Butter

In a medium saucepan, over a medium heat toast 100g hazelnuts in 50g Butter. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Garlic and Sage Burnt Butter

In a medium saucepan, over a medium heat melt 100g butter. Once the butter starts to foam, add 1 clove chopped garlic. Stir for 1 minute. Add 4 tablespoons of fresh sage leaves, continue stirring for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
